About Chunjiro

Descriptive Alt Chunjiro is a Malaysian writer who believes that the most compelling stories often begin with the people closest to us — so he writes mostly in the first person. He draws inspiration from family histories, cultural interactions, and the dynamics between generations. His work often explores how identities are shaped by truth, experience, worldview, and imagination.

Chunjiro is a pseudonym used for fiction writing. The writer has also written non-fiction under his real name.

Educating Gramps is his first novel, written with warmth, humour, and a deep affection for the messy yet beautiful nature of family. When not writing, Chunjiro enjoys solitude, quiet conversations, replaying other people’s stories, and observing the small details — values, beliefs, and purposes — that make life so unpredictable.

He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in counselling.
